As part of the ongoing initiative to modernize and improve AU systems and infrastructure, OIT will be moving the data from your personal network G: drive to Microsoft OneDrive, which is the cloud-based secure storage space associated with your AU Office 365 account.
OneDrive makes it much easier to access your files and data from any device with an Internet connection. You can read more about OneDrive and how to access it in our online Knowledge Base.
To improve access to AU's wired network, OIT is planning to change the way computers, printers, TVs, game consoles, and other devices authenticate.
- The new authentication method is called 802.1x (dot1x for short).
- Dot1x both secures and simplifies network access.
A massive project has been undertaken by the university to migrate all 40,000+ web pages to modern, Americans for Disabilities Act compliant templates on the AU website.
- Old pages are being retired.
- New content is engaging, relevant, and mobile-friendly.
Ellucian's Colleague, AU's enterprise resource planning system, houses the institution’s student information, financials, human resources, payroll, admissions, and financial aid data.
The system runs on a non-relational Unidata database; however, AU is in the process of migrating the database backbone to SQL Server over a period of two years.
This is one of the largest and most complex projects ever undertaken by OIT.
